Normalize Your High Blood Pressure
We know that high blood pressure is preventable. A recent study found that people of any age can reduce their risk of developing high blood pressure, or hypertension, by maintaining a healthy weight, getting regular moderate exercise, following a diet low in fat and sodium yet rich in fruits and vegetables, not smoking, and limiting alcohol. The researcher looked at nearly thirteen hundred men and women in the study who were between the ages of fifty-five and sixty-five at the start of the analysis. Overall, the researcher found the chances that these middle-aged Americans would develop stage one hypertension (or high blood pressure) was ninety percent during their lifetimes.1(more)
